Leadership South Dakota

Leadership South Dakota, headquartered in Sioux Falls, attracts engaged citizens from across the state to provide them with the background, unique experiences, and insights necessary to assume leadership positions at community, state, and national levels. Over seven months, approximately 40 selected participants go behind-the-scenes with leaders, industries, and communities around South Dakota, spending 48 hours immersed within each regional area. The program features visits to various regions showcasing leaders in healthcare systems, financial industry, and other sectors.

Leadership South Dakota has graduated over 500 alumni who have launched nonprofits, run for office, formed cross-sector partnerships, stepped into leadership roles across the state, and continued their education. The program's alumni network continues to grow, demonstrating the long-term impact of the organization's work. The Evan C. Nolte Leadership Sioux Falls program, run separately, meets the community's need for informed and dedicated local leaders. Programs run October through April with 8 required sessions built around educational experiences supporting active citizenship and community engagement.
