Sam's Club Tire & Battery

· 3201 S Louise Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57106, USA

I've driven past that Sam's Club on Louise more times than I can count — usually heading south toward 41st or cutting through to get to the east side — and it took me longer than it should have to realize they do tires. Not just sell them, but actually install them while you're inside debating whether you need a 48-pack of granola bars.

The tire center sits on the north end of the building, easy access if you're coming from Minnesota Ave. I pulled in on a Thursday afternoon, half-expecting the usual membership warehouse chaos, but the bay was quiet. Two guys working, no line. They quoted me a price that made me pull up Discount Tire on my phone just to confirm I wasn't missing something — I wasn't. Sam's runs lean on labor costs, and if you're already paying for the membership, the math works.

What surprised me was the speed. They said an hour, maybe ninety minutes depending on how backed up they got. I wandered the aisles, came back in forty-five, and my car was done. Balanced, mounted, old ones disposed of. The tech walked me through the tread warranty without the usual upsell script — it felt more like he was just explaining what I'd bought.

The catch is availability. They're not open Sundays, and their hours tilt toward mid-morning to early evening, so if you work a standard shift and need something done fast, you're threading a needle. But if you can swing it on a weekday or Saturday, and you're not particular about having sixteen brand options, it's hard to beat the combination of price and efficiency.

I left with new tires and a rotisserie chicken I didn't plan on buying — which feels about right for any trip to Sam's.
