TASTEAS Bubble Waffle,Tea & Rolled Ice Cream

· 1018 W 41st St, Sioux Falls, SD 57105, USA

I've driven past TASTEAS on 41st more times than I can count — that stretch between Minnesota and Kiwanis feels like every third storefront is either coming or going. But this one stuck. Maybe it's the name, which sounds like someone tried to fit an entire menu into seven letters. Maybe it's because bubble tea in Sioux Falls still feels like something you have to seek out, not stumble into.

Inside, it's bright in that specific way Asian dessert shops are — white tile, pastel accents, a menu board that takes genuine study. Bubble waffles, rolled ice cream, milk tea with more customization options than my last car lease. I ordered a taro milk tea because that's what I always order, the kind of creature-of-habit move that makes me question whether I'm actually adventurous or just performing it.

The rolled ice cream is the draw here, the thing people photograph. They pour liquid cream onto a frozen plate, scrape it into spirals, stack it in a cup with toppings that threaten structural integrity. It's theater — and it works. I watched a family of four lean over the counter like they were witnessing surgery.

What I appreciate is that TASTEAS doesn't try to be anything other than what it is. No fusion confusion, no "elevated" takes on street food. Just solid bubble tea and Instagram-friendly desserts in a town where both are still relatively rare. The space gets cramped when it's busy, and parking on 41st is always a negotiation, but that's part of it.

It's the kind of place that makes Sioux Falls feel a little less Sioux Falls — in the best way, the way that means the world's coming here instead of us always having to drive somewhere else for it.
